Humans are producing more waste than ever before. The World Economic Forum reports that by 2050 there will be so much plastic floating in the worlds oceans that it will outweigh the amount of fish. Photographer Silveri made a photo series about animals of the sea that adapt their habitat to human-produced waste.
30% of plastic packaging ends up in natural eco-systems like the ocean. Silveri wondered whilst buying some fish, which ones will still be available to eat in a few years. Whilst plastic garbage has been bothering him for a longtime, he started noticing that the abstract photo of rubbish in distant seas touched him little. That is why he started to collect objects that most of us hold in our hands on a daily basis. The result is a combination of lively and esthetically pleasing works that make you question the meaning.
