Hungarian photographer Varga’s visual world can be described as simple and clean. But there is much more to it than meets the eye.
In the featured series Raw Hill she shows us the brutalist architecture that flourished after WWII. It was used a lot for governmental and educational buildings. It is referred to as raw, functional, stunning, monumental, geometric, ugly, massive, representative and rough.
The opinions differ around this architectural form depending whether you focus on the political ideology of these times or giving it an artistic value and beauty. And the latter we think Varga tried us to show by adding a geometrical aligned couple both in movements as in color palette.
